Officials Training and Certification Courses

Why become an official?  Taking part as a competition official is exciting — it brings you into the heart of the action! And it’s a way of helping the thousands of young athletes who enter competitions to have fun and to achieve personal goals.

It’s simple to get started.  Become a member of  U.S. Ski and Snowboard and join as an official.  And then work with your local ski club to volunteer at an entry level position.

Who becomes a USSA official?  Oftentimes it starts with parents of young athletes who want to be more actively involved. Former athletes and coaches are also great candidates with their background in the sport. But it can be anyone who has an interest in helping young athletes and playing an important role in their success.

Competition Officials (CO) Entry Level Online Course

The Competition Officials (CO) Entry Level Online Course is required before taking any of the Officials courses.     In order to participate in any other certifications (RA/T&C/Ref/etc) an official must take the CO first.

Take the CO Online Course and then submit the test page to the Alaska Division AO Chair (Scott Young).
